The People's Kitchen Newcastle Campaign
We've been delivering the Fabric process with great success for over 6 years at our agency Unwritten Group, check out the incredible results we delivered for Newcastle based charity - The People's Kitchen.
The People’s Kitchen saw a huge return on investment on the spend of the paid social media campaign.
Unwritten worked closely with The People’s Kitchen team to run a fundraising campaign, raising significant funds for the charity in the seven weeks leading up to Christmas.
The Organisation
The People’s Kitchen is a charity based in the heart of Newcastle, which has been helping the community since 1985. The Kitchen is a safe haven for the homeless and vulnerable people of Newcastle by providing amenities such as hot meals, clothing, toiletries as well as working with the community to enable vulnerable people to move off the streets and into their own homes.
The Objective
The People’s Kitchen is run entirely by volunteers and receives no government funding, so running a successful fundraising social media campaign with minimal spend was the main objective for this project. Unwritten harnessed the existing Feed a Friend for a Fiver campaign, creating a series of key messages and dynamic social media graphics that would resonate with a wide audience across the North East and beyond.
The Outcome
From the launch of the social media campaign, we monitored its progress daily and provided The People’s Kitchen team with a weekly report detailing its performance. The campaign ran for seven weeks and raised a significant sum of funds. The campaign reached over 63,000 people, converting 4,000 link clicks to the donation page and generating wide reaching support of the charity.
